RIPLEY, Miss. — Ripley High School senior Jordan Jackson officially signed to continue his football career at East Mississippi Community College during a ceremony held March 6 at the Ripley High School Event Center.
Jackson was joined by family, friends, teammates and coaches as he celebrated the milestone and the next step in both his academic and athletic career.
Head Coach Rico McDonald offered words of encouragement during the ceremony, sharing advice and support for Jackson as he prepares to move on to the collegiate level. The signing also marked a notable moment for the Ripley football program, as Jackson became the first player to sign to play football at the next level during McDonald’s first year as head coach.
Jackson built an impressive resume during his time at Ripley. His 2026 season included 85 rushing yards, 22 receptions for 243 yards and four touchdowns on offense. Defensively, he recorded 182 tackles, six tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, six pass deflections, one fumble recovery and one forced fumble. He also contributed on special teams with nine punt returns for 125 yards and a touchdown, along with 31 kickoff returns for 745 yards.
In addition to his on-field production, Jackson earned multiple honors throughout his high school career, including team MVP, Tippah County Hometown Player of the Game Farm Bureau recognition, and all-division district recognition at linebacker. He is also set to play in the upcoming NEMFCA All-Star Game for the South District team at Northeast Mississippi Community College on May 13 at 6 p.m.
Jackson’s signing represents both an individual achievement and a proud moment for Ripley High School football as he takes the next step with one of Mississippi’s top junior college football programs.
