McKenzie, Tennessee — The Blue Mountain Christian men’s tennis team traveled to face Bethel University on Tuesday, falling 7-0 in the match. Several matches were competitive, even if the overall score did not reflect close competition.
In doubles play, Adriaan Englebrecht and Luis Lainer competed closely on the top court before losing 6-4. Caleb Rogers and Craig Blevins dropped their match 6-1 on court two, while Pablo Cruz and Kevin Kotzé were defeated 6-4 in the third doubles match.
In singles action, Englebrecht lost 6-0, 6-3 on the top court. Blevins was defeated 6-2, 6-1, and Cruz fell 6-3, 6-3. Kotzé pushed his match to a tiebreak in the first set but ultimately lost 7-6, 6-2. Parra was defeated 6-0, 6-2, and Lainer narrowly lost in a match tiebreaker, 10-5.
Blue Mountain Christian will prepare for its next match following the loss, looking to improve in upcoming contests.
