Blue Mountain Christian beats Rust, heads to SSAC Tournament as No. 4 seed

NEW ALBANY, Miss. — Blue Mountain Christian closed its regular season with a victory over Rust in a match used as a final tune-up before the SSAC Tournament. The Toppers earned the No. 4 seed for the postseason.

The team set the tone early in doubles play, capturing two key wins. Camila Mordiz and Eugenia Ramos won 6-4 at No. 1 doubles, while Nami Malyaporn and Kiersten Terris followed with a 6-3 victory. Blue Mountain Christian also claimed the third doubles point by default after Rust did not have enough players to complete the lineup.

In singles competition, the Toppers continued their strong performance. Mordiz posted a 6-1, 6-0 win, and Ramos swept her opponent with a 6-0, 6-0 victory. Lina Cetina added another point with a 6-4, 6-4 win. Rust scored in the middle of the lineup, as Terris lost 4-6, 0-6 and Malyaporn fell in a 10-5 tiebreaker. Blue Mountain Christian also secured a default win at the final singles spot.

With the regular season complete, the Toppers now focus on the SSAC Tournament, where they will compete as the No. 4 seed.
