Blue Mountain Christian Men’s Tennis Tops Rust College

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Blue Mountain Christian University’s men’s tennis team improved to 2-0 with a 5-2 win over NAIA rival Rust College on Friday.

The Toppers took the doubles point with wins on Court 1 and Court 3. Luis Lainer and Kevin Kotzé won 6-1 on Court 1, while Caleb Rogers and Craig Blevins secured a 6-3 victory on Court 3. Juan Daniel Arevalo Rodriguez and Shriraam Anbanantan dropped their match 4-6.

In singles play, Lainer dominated with a 6-0, 6-0 win on Court 1. Blevins fought back from a set down to win 5-7, 6-3, 10-8 on Court 2. Rogers defeated his opponent 6-4, 7-6 on Court 3. Arevalo Rodriguez lost 1-6, 2-6 on Court 4. Luis Felipe Cespedes won 6-4, 6-3 on Court 5, while Joel Renfroe fell 3-6, 6-2, 6-10 on Court 6.

The Toppers are scheduled for a doubleheader Friday in Memphis, facing Christian Brothers at 10 a.m. and Cumberland University at 1 p.m.
