Blue Mountain Christian softball dominates Williams Baptist in doubleheader sweep

Blue Mountain Christian softball delivered a commanding performance Tuesday, sweeping Williams Baptist in a doubleheader with victories of 4-0 and 7-2. The Toppers controlled both games from start to finish, thanks to solid pitching and clutch hitting.

In the opener, Blue Mountain set the tone early with two runs in the first inning and added two more in the third. Maryn Macri highlighted the offensive effort with a two-run home run, while Kelsey Camp contributed a two-RBI single. Anna Harrison crossed the plate twice as the Toppers took control early. Neely Cooper pitched a complete-game shutout, allowing five hits and no runs to secure the win.

The second game followed a similar pattern. Blue Mountain scored three runs in the second inning, added another in the fourth, and broke the game open with a three-run sixth. Harrison led the offense with three RBIs, and Macri and Camp each drove in two runs. Harrison also went 4-for-4 at the plate and stole four bases in game two, finishing the doubleheader with six stolen bases overall.

Jana Shaw earned the win in the second game, pitching all seven innings and limiting Williams Baptist to three hits and two runs. She kept the Eagles from building sustained momentum with effective pitching and managing big innings. Overall, Blue Mountain showcased a balanced effort across all phases—power hitting, situational play, aggressive baserunning, and reliable pitching—as they move early in the season with momentum.
