Blue Mountain Christian tops Brewton-Parker Christian in close road game

Mount Vernon, Ga. — Blue Mountain Christian women’s basketball defeated Brewton-Parker Christian 69-66 Tuesday evening in a close road game. The Toppers improved to 10-9 overall and 5-6 in Southern States Athletic Conference play.

The game started with Brewton-Parker building an early lead. Blue Mountain Christian responded with balanced offense and tough defense to stay within striking distance. Maddie Kirk and McKenzie Williams provided early scoring sparks, while Isabella Carlson helped run the offense with strong ball movement.

Both teams exchanged runs through the first half. Blue Mountain Christian held a slim lead at halftime, thanks to efficient shooting and disciplined play. The second half saw continued intensity, with Brewton-Parker challenging on both ends of the court. The Barons trimmed the margin multiple times, but the Toppers answered each push with clutch baskets, stops, and rebounding.

In the final minutes, free throws and smart decision-making helped Blue Mountain Christian maintain its lead. Maddie Kirk led all scorers with 17 points, adding six rebounds and four assists. McKenzie Williams scored 14 points with five rebounds, while Rebecca Walter contributed 12 points on efficient shooting. Carlson filled the stat sheet with eight rebounds, eight assists, and seven points, anchoring the Toppers’ balanced attack.

Blue Mountain Christian will play again Thursday at BMCU against Life University.
