Blue Mountain Christian Women open tennis season with dominant 6-1 win over Millsaps
NEW ALBANY, Miss. — Blue Mountain Christian Women opened the 2026 tennis season with a decisive 6-1 victory over NCAA Division III Millsaps College on Saturday. The Lady Toppers took the early lead by winning all three doubles matches.
Camila Mordiz and Eugenia Ramos, along with Lina Cetina and Lucia Rodriguez Garcia, each secured 6-2 wins in doubles. Valeria Manquillo and Kiersten Terris shut out their opponents 6-0. Mordiz earned a forfeit victory on Court 1, while Cetina won 6-0, 6-2, and Manquillo won 6-0, 6-2 in singles play.
Ramos narrowly lost in a three-set match, 3-6, 6-2, 8-10, on Court 2. Rodriguez Garcia secured a straight-set win, 6-0, 6-0, on Court 5. Nami Malyaporn also won in straight sets, 6-2, 6-3, on Court 6.
Blue Mountain Christian improves to 1-0 and is scheduled to return to action February 10 against Rust College in Holly Springs, Mississippi, at 1 p.m. Central Time, according to team officials.
