Cody Presley of Blue Mountain Christian has been named the SSAC Baseball Player of the Week for the second time this season, after a strong offensive showing helped the Toppers go 5-0 last week.
Presley played a key role in a successful stretch that included a doubleheader sweep of Crowley’s Ridge and a three-game sweep of Point University in the team’s first SSAC series of the season. Over the five games, he posted a .668 batting average and slugged .750. He also drove in eight runs and delivered clutch hits throughout the week.
Head coach Taylor Clark praised Presley’s approach and leadership. “Cody has been locked in from day one this season,” Clark said. “His preparation, confidence, and ability to stay within himself at the plate set the tone for our lineup. He competes every at-bat and brings a calm presence that our team feeds off of.”
Presley’s consistent performance has been a major factor in the Toppers’ early success in SSAC play. His second Player of the Week award underscores his importance to the team’s offensive efforts as they continue their conference schedule.
