Montgomery, Alabama — Lucia Garcia, a sophomore at Blue Mountain Christian University, was named the SSAC Women’s Tennis Player of the Week after a dominant performance in the Toppers’ season opener against Millsaps College.
Garcia teamed up with Lina Cetina in doubles and secured a 6-2 victory. The pair controlled the match from the baseline, applying steady pressure and dictating the pace to give their team an early lead.
In singles play, Garcia delivered a flawless performance. The Santa Irene, Spain native won in straight sets, 6-0, 6-0, without dropping a game. Her consistency and composure showcased her offseason preparation and positioned her as a key contributor for the Toppers this spring.
Her impressive sweep in singles highlighted a strong all-around effort, earning her conference recognition and providing momentum for Blue Mountain Christian moving forward.
