Blue Mountain, Miss. — The Blue Mountain Toppers secured a 77-38 victory over the Thomas University Night Hawks in a Southern States Athletic Conference game Thursday night.
The Toppers set the tone early with aggressive defense and efficient offense. They jumped out to a 24-5 lead after the first quarter, forcing turnovers and converting scoring opportunities.
Blue Mountain continued to control the game in the second quarter, extending its lead with balanced offense and steady execution. The team headed into halftime with a commanding advantage.
After the break, the Toppers remained aggressive on both ends of the floor. They outscored the Night Hawks in the third quarter, attacking the paint and knocking down perimeter shots.
Blue Mountain finished strong in the fourth quarter, maintaining their intensity to secure the conference win. Rebecca Walter led the team with 18 points and provided a strong interior presence. Kathryn Echols added 15 points, including multiple three-pointers.
Maddie Kirk and Lena Taylor each scored 11 points, contributing to a balanced attack. Kirk also led the team with nine rebounds, while Isabella Carlson added eight rebounds and three assists in a well-rounded effort.
