Blue Mountain men’s tennis falls to Mobile at SSAC Roundup
The Blue Mountain Christian University men’s tennis team lost 6-1 to the University of Mobile Rams during the SSAC Roundup in Montgomery, Alabama, on Friday, according to school officials.
Despite the loss, the Toppers demonstrated competitive spirit throughout the match. They secured a doubles victory on court three, with Pablo Cruz and Kevin Kotzé winning 6-2.
Adriaan Engelbrecht and Luis Lainer played a close match on the top court but fell 6-4. Caleb Rogers and Craig Blevins also faced tough competition, losing 6-4 on court two. In singles play, Engelbrecht earned Blue Mountain’s only point after his opponent retired due to injury.
Cruz competed well but was defeated 6-3, 6-4. Blevins lost 6-1, 6-2, while Maj Langerholz also fell 6-1, 6-2. Kotzé was involved in one of the closest singles matches, forcing a tiebreaker before losing. Lainer fought hard before dropping his match 6-3, 6-4.
Blue Mountain continues its participation in the SSAC Roundup, aiming to gain valuable experience against strong conference opponents.
