Life University tops Blue Mountain in SSAC basketball game

Marietta, Georgia — Life University edged Blue Mountain 86-68 in a Southern States Athletic Conference game at the Eagles’ Nest on Tuesday night.

The game started quickly, with both teams trading baskets and pushing the pace. Life built an early double-digit lead in the first half thanks to efficient shooting and a strong inside game. The home team maintained control before halftime.

Blue Mountain fought back after halftime, attacking the rim and increasing their tempo. Despite their efforts, Life’s offensive execution kept the Toppers at bay, allowing the Eagles to sustain their advantage throughout the second half.

Jonathan Baker led Blue Mountain with 17 points and six rebounds. Gavin Shannon added 15 points and four rebounds, while Michael Hill scored 13. Chris Carter provided a spark off the bench with 10 points. Jalen Boyd-Savage dished out four assists to help facilitate the offense as Blue Mountain competed until the final buzzer.

The Toppers will host Thomas in their next game at Tyler Gymnasium next week, according to team officials.
