Night Hawks hold off Blue Mountain in SSAC clash
Blue Mountain, Miss. — Thomas University defeated Blue Mountain 85-76 in a Southern States Athletic Conference game Thursday night. The Night Hawks built a double-digit lead by halftime and maintained their advantage in the second half.
Thomas led 42-29 at the break, thanks to a balanced offensive effort and efficient execution. The Night Hawks extended their lead after halftime, but Blue Mountain responded with scoring runs and defensive stops. Despite the Toppers’ efforts, Thomas stayed ahead down the stretch to secure the victory.
Gavin Shannon scored a team-high 27 points for Blue Mountain, shooting 9-of-17 from the field. Jonathan Baker added 19 points, five rebounds and three assists. RJ Robinson contributed 10 points and seven rebounds off the bench. Esrael Yant scored nine points for the Toppers.
