Lady Wildcats have defacto district championship game at home Tuesday

The Walnut Lady Wildcat volleyball program have put themselves in position for a district championship in just their second year as a program.

The Lady Cats will take on Hickory Flat at home on Tuesday to decide the Class 1 Region 2 champion.

Walnut has clinched a playoff spot regardless of what happens Tuesday.

In the preview posted at the beginning of the season on tippahsports.com, we had the following observation about the Lady Wildcats season:

“If the Lady Wildcats continue to improve as a unit, they could very well find themselves battling for a district crown in a late season match against Hickory Flat.”

And so it has come to pass.
