Walnut’s Braydin Spight Signs with Itawamba Community College
One of Tippah County’s most dominant linemen is headed to the next level.
Walnut High School standout Braydin Spight has officially signed to continue his football career at Itawamba Community College, capping off a decorated career with the Walnut Wildcats.
At 6-foot-6 and 310 pounds, Spight has been a force in the trenches for four seasons. A four-year starter, he earned recognition year after year as one of the top linemen in the area and across the region.
Spight was a three-time Tippah County Sports / TippahSports.com All-County Offensive Lineman, solidifying his reputation as one of the most consistent and physical blockers in the county.
His honors extend well beyond local recognition.
- 2022: 1-2A First Team All-Division
- 2023: 1-2A Super 22 All-Region Lineman; Daily Corinthian First Team All-Area Tackle
- 2024: 1-2A Super 22 All-Region Lineman; Daily Corinthian First Team All-Area Tackle; Farm Bureau Player of the Week
- 2025: 1-2A Super 22 All-Region Lineman; Daily Corinthian First Team All-Area Tackle; Farm Bureau Player of the Week
Spight also competed in the Super Sophomore All-Star Game at East Central Community College in 2023, showcasing his talent against some of the best underclassmen in the state.
He held four college offers — ICC, East Central, East Mississippi Community College and Northeast Mississippi Community College — before choosing the Indians.
For Walnut, Spight’s signing represents more than just individual success. It highlights the continued strength of the Wildcats’ program and the development of high-level talent right here in Tippah County.
From dominating Friday nights in Class 1-2A to earning repeated all-county, all-area and all-region honors, Spight now takes his size, experience and work ethic to the junior college ranks.
