Pine Grove ladies get buzzer beaters, big buckets late to pull away from Blue Mountain
The Pine Grove Lady Panthers remained undefeated in 1A play with a convincing 71-36 victory over in county rival Blue Mountain on Friday night.
The Lady Panthers got quarter ending shots from Loren Elliott, Taylor Fletcher, Jessi Mauney and Jenna Pannell to move to 24-3 on the season, 10-0 in division.
A fast paced, back and forth contest in the opening quarter turned in Pine Grove’s favor as Elliott swished a 3 pointer at the first quarter buzzer to give the Lady Panthers a 17-8 lead.
Pine Grove never trailed from that point forward.
The loss moved Blue Mountain to 16-7, 8-2 in division with their only two losses to Pine Grove.
The Lady Cougars were led by Tyesha Gillard with 12 points.
Pine Grove was led by 21 points from Loren Elliott. Karlie Rogers added 14 Taylor Fletcher chipped in 13.
