Blue Mountain Christian Finishes Eighth at BMCU Spring Classic

West Point, Miss. — Blue Mountain Christian finished eighth at the BMCU Spring Classic, held Monday and Tuesday at Old Waverly Golf Course. The tournament featured a 12-team field with three programs ranked in the NAIA Top 10 and another inside the Top 25, according to the school.

Morgan Dabbs led the Toppers, tying for 24th place with rounds of 86, 85, and 76, for a total of 247. Her final round of 76 marked her best performance of the tournament and demonstrated steady improvement, according to school officials.

Abby Gattis was the next best performer for Blue Mountain Christian, finishing with rounds of 92, 91, and 80 for a total of 263. She shaved 11 strokes off her opening round by the final day, officials said. Erin Porter finished 47th with a total score of 277 after rounds of 90, 99, and 88. Adina Ataullah finished 48th with rounds of 102, 87, and 90 for a total of 279.

Other Topper competitors included Abby Moore, who finished 53rd with a total of 298, and Ayla Stowe, who placed 58th with a total of 369. Jenna Hall rounded out the team, finishing 59th with rounds of 130, 124, and 120.

Head Coach Kevin Barefield expressed pride in his team’s effort on a challenging course. “This was a really strong field and a great test for our group,” Barefield said. “Old Waverly demands focus and discipline, and I was proud of how our players kept competing and continued to improve throughout the tournament. Morgan finishing strong in her final round really showed the kind of growth we’re looking for as we build consistency as a team.”

Competing at one of the region’s most respected courses provided the Toppers with valuable experience as they continue their spring season, according to school officials.
