Blue Mountain Christian Finishes Third at BMCU Spring Classic
WEST POINT, Miss. — The No. 8 Blue Mountain Christian University men’s golf team finished third at the BMCU Spring Classic held Monday and Tuesday at Mossy Oak Golf Course. The 16-team field included five NAIA Top 25 programs and two teams receiving votes, making it a competitive tournament on one of the region’s top courses.
Alex Nordstrom led the Toppers with a tie for fifth place, posting rounds of 75, 73 and 75 for a total of 223. His performance helped him secure a top-five finish in a deep field.
Cobey Riddle also performed well, finishing sixth overall with rounds of 76, 77 and 72 for a total score of 225. His final round of 72 was one of the Toppers’ best closing rounds of the tournament.
Simon Meiby contributed with a 15th-place finish after rounds of 77, 77 and 75 for a total of 229. Other top competitors included Shameer Jayram, who tied for 35th with a score of 237, and Acen Lambert, who tied for 45th at 239.

Tucker Parker tied for 66th with a score of 249, and Eli Cooper tied for 72nd at 251. Daniel Sharpe and Thomas Hiscoke finished tied for 78th, each with a total of 257.
Blue Mountain Christian Head Coach Kevin Barefield praised his team’s effort against a strong national field. “This was a really competitive field with a lot of nationally ranked programs, and I thought our guys represented us well,” Barefield said. “Alex and Cobey both had strong tournaments and showed the consistency we expect from our leaders. Hosting an event like this against this level of competition helps prepare us for what’s ahead, and I’m proud of the way the team competed from start to finish.”
The third-place finish marks another solid result for the Toppers as they continue their spring season.
