Blue Mountain Christian Men dominate Millsaps in season opener
NEW ALBANY, Miss. — Blue Mountain Christian University men’s tennis team defeated Millsaps College 7-0 in its season opener Saturday afternoon.
The Toppers secured the doubles point with three wins. Adriaan Engelbrecht and Kevin Kotzé won on court one, 6-1. Pablo Cruz and Luis Lainer took court two, 6-4, while Caleb Rogers and Craig Blevins won on court three, 6-2.
In singles play, Engelbrecht claimed victory on court one, 6-2, 6-4. Kotzé won on court two, 6-3, 7-5, and Cruz defeated his opponent 7-5, 6-2 on court three. Lainer won on court four, 6-0, 6-1, and Shriraam Anbanantan won easily on court five, 6-1, 6-2. Maj Langerholz completed the sweep with a three-set win, 4-6, 6-1, 10-6, on court six.
The Toppers, now 1-0, are scheduled to return to the court Tuesday at 1 p.m. against Rust College in Holly Springs, Mississippi.
