Blue Mountain Christian Men’s Golf Finishes Seventh at Roadrunner Classic

ROCKY FACE, Ga. — The Blue Mountain Christian University men’s golf team finished seventh in a 12-team field at the Roadrunner Classic, held at The Farm Golf Club. The tournament included 11 teams ranked inside the NAIA Top 25, making it one of the most competitive events on the team’s schedule.

Led by Alex Nordstrom, who tied for sixth place, the Toppers posted solid scores across three rounds. Nordstrom shot rounds of 75, 67 and 75 for a total of 217. His second-round 67 was his best score of the tournament and helped him climb the leaderboard against a nationally competitive field.

Cobey Riddle also performed well, finishing tied for 10th with rounds of 72, 72 and 74 for a total of 218. Simon Meiby added another counting score for Blue Mountain, tying for 34th with rounds of 79, 73 and 78 for a total of 230. Acen Lambert finished 48th with scores of 83, 77 and 77, totaling 237, while Damil Ataullah ended 57th with rounds of 78, 82 and 81 for a total of 241.

Head coach Kevin Barefield praised his team’s effort against the strong field. “This is one of the biggest tournaments we will play in all season, if not the biggest, and I was proud of how our guys competed against some of the best teams in the country,” he said. “We had some really strong individual rounds, especially from Alex and Cobey, and this experience against top competition will help us as we continue preparing for postseason play.”

The Toppers aim to build on this experience as they progress through their spring season.
