Blue Mountain Christian rallies to beat No. 2 GGC in comeback win

Blue Mountain Christian delivered a dramatic comeback Friday afternoon, rallying from an early deficit to beat No. 2 Georgia Gwinnett College 6-5 at the BMCU Sportsplex.

The Grizzlies jumped out to a four-run lead in the first inning, putting the Toppers in an early hole. Blue Mountain Christian responded in the second inning, cutting the deficit and gradually gaining momentum throughout the game.

After GGC added a run in the third, Blue Mountain Christian answered with a multi-run inning, shifting the game’s momentum. A solo home run in the fifth brought the Toppers within one, and they tied the game in the sixth. The decisive run came in the seventh inning, securing the victory.

On the mound, Christian Manness pitched eight innings of relief, allowing one run and striking out seven to earn the win. Offensively, Cody Presley led with four hits, including extra bases, and drove in a run. Jake Meilstrup added three hits, two runs scored, and a home run. Ross Polizzi contributed a two-RBI double, while Jarret Morris and Garret Lance each added an RBI.
