Blue Mountain Christian delivered a powerful offensive performance Thursday, defeating United States Sports University 18-2 in five innings. The Toppers scored 16 unanswered runs after surrendering an early two-run homer in the first inning.
United States Sports University took an early lead with a two-run homer in the top of the first. Blue Mountain Christian responded immediately, tying the game at 2-2 in the bottom half of the inning. From there, the Toppers took control and never looked back.
Blue Mountain Christian broke the game open in the second inning, scoring six runs on timely hits and aggressive base running. The momentum continued into the third and fourth innings, with the Toppers exploding for double-digit runs in the fourth. The inning featured clutch extra-base hits and sustained pressure at the plate, extending the lead to end the game early under the run rule.
Several players contributed offensively. Maryn Macri drove in four runs, while Kelsey Camp matched her with four RBI. Chloe Shelton added three RBI, and Anna Harrison scored three runs, collected multiple hits, and stole two bases, keeping the defense on its heels all afternoon.
