Blue Mountain Christian Track and Field Excels at MC Spring Invite
Clinton, Miss. — The Blue Mountain Christian University track and field teams competed Saturday at the Mississippi College Spring Invite, with several athletes delivering notable performances across distance and field events.
Jonah Barnhardt led the men’s distance runners with an eighth-place finish in the 5,000 meters, clocking in at 15:42.88, according to meet results. Teammate Lukas Dykes finished 18th with a time of 16:30.22. Erick Flores crossed in 18:03.84 for 23rd, while JT Draper and Noah Harrington finished 26th and 27th, respectively.
On the women’s side, Kaedyn Wilson paced the Toppers in the 5,000 meters with a 12th-place finish in 20:04.35. Ella Shepherd finished 15th at 20:45.07, and Lauren Paul was 18th in 23:01.52.
In the 1,500 meters, JaKarien Perry led the men’s team with a 15th-place finish in 4:26.50. Dykes was 16th in 4:26.74, and Barnhardt finished 22nd in 4:30.28. On the women’s side, Jorja Kate Mooneyhan finished 20th in 5:39.72, followed by Ruthie Hutchinson in 23rd and Leah Montgomery in 26th.
Perry also competed in the 800 meters, placing 18th in 2:05.87. Sammuel Hopper finished 20th in 2:09.70. In the women’s 800 meters, Mooneyhan finished ninth at 2:37.73, with Hutchinson in 11th at 2:44.53.
The Toppers also participated in field events. Abby Laney placed 18th in the women’s discus throw with a mark of 26.30 meters. Shane Murphee finished 10th in the men’s javelin throw with a toss of 36.65 meters.
