Montgomery, Ala. — The Blue Mountain Christian women’s tennis team defeated Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College 4-3 in a Southern States Athletic Conference match Tuesday in Montgomery, Alabama.
The Toppers took an early lead with a dominant performance in doubles play. Lucia Rodriguez Garcia and Lina Cetina won 6-0 at No. 1 doubles, while Camila Mordiz and Eugenia Ramos secured a 6-4 victory at No. 2 doubles. The No. 3 doubles match featuring Kiersten Terris and Nami Malyaporn went unfinished.
In singles, Blue Mountain Christian won three matches to clinch the win. Eugenia Ramos defeated her opponent 6-3, 6-0 at No. 3 singles. Nami Malyaporn added a 7-5, 6-1 win at No. 4 singles. Kiersten Terris was awarded a default victory at No. 6 singles, which proved to be the winning point.
Abraham Baldwin College responded with wins at No. 1, No. 2, and No. 5 singles, but the Toppers’ doubles advantage and depth in singles allowed them to secure the victory, according to sources.
