Blue Mountain Falls to Abraham Baldwin in SSAC Tennis Match
Montgomery, Ala. — The Blue Mountain Christian men’s tennis team fell to Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College in SSAC play Tuesday. The Stallions claimed the doubles point after winning all three doubles matches.
At No. 1 doubles, Adriaan Engelbrecht and Luis Lainer lost 6-1 to their ABAC opponents. Maj Langerholz and Shriraam Anbanantan also fell 6-1 at No. 2 doubles, while Pablo Cruz and Kevin Kotzé lost 6-3 at No. 3 doubles.
In singles, Engelbrecht was competitive at No. 1, split the first two sets 6-3 and 3-6, but lost a tight third-set tiebreaker 12-10. ABAC secured the remaining singles points with victories at Nos. 2 through 6.
Pablo Cruz lost 6-2, 6-2 at No. 2 singles, and Craig Blevins was defeated 6-0, 6-1 at No. 3. Kotzé fell 6-4, 6-2 at No. 4, while Anbanantan lost 6-0, 6-4 at No. 5. Lainer was defeated 6-0, 7-5 at No. 6.
The Toppers will continue SSAC play as they aim to improve in upcoming matches, according to team officials.
