The Blue Mountain Christian University women’s tennis team opened the SSAC Tennis Roundup with a 7-0 loss to Loyola University (La.) on Thursday in Montgomery, Alabama.
The tournament features multiple conference matchups as teams enter the heart of SSAC competition. In doubles play, Camila Mordiz and Eugenia Ramos teamed at No. 1 but lost 3-6. Lina Cetina and Lucia Garcia played at No. 2 doubles but also fell 3-6. Nami Malyaporn and Kiersten Terris competed at No. 3 doubles, dropping their match 2-6, giving Loyola the doubles point.
In singles, Mordiz pushed Loyola’s No. 1 player before falling 4-6, 3-6. Cetina was defeated at No. 2 singles, 1-6, 4-6, while Garcia lost 1-6, 0-6 at No. 3. Malyaporn was defeated 2-6, 2-6 at No. 4, and Ramos lost her match after winning the first set, 6-0, 3-6, at No. 5 singles. Terris completed the lineup with a 0-6, 1-6 loss at No. 6 singles.
The Toppers will continue their run at the SSAC Roundup as the conference schedule progresses in Montgomery, according to team officials.
