West Point, Ga. — The BMCU Toppers delivered a commanding performance Monday night in SSAC women’s basketball, defeating Point University 73-44. The team’s balanced offense and aggressive defense set the tone from the opening tip and maintained throughout the game.
From the start, the Toppers applied pressure on both ends of the floor. They outrebounded the Skyhawks and forced turnovers that led to easy scoring opportunities. McKenzie Williams had a standout performance inside, scoring 13 points and grabbing 15 rebounds. Kathryn Echols led all scorers with 16 points, demonstrating her scoring versatility.
Off the bench, Brooklyn Hodum contributed 12 points, while Rebecca Walter added 10 points and strong interior play. Maddie Kirk rounded out the scoring with nine points and five rebounds. The Toppers built and maintained a sizable lead through every quarter.
The team will stay on the road for its next game, facing BPCU on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m., according to team sources.
