Dalton State beats Blue Mountain in SSAC basketball game

Dalton, Ga. — The Blue Mountain Christian Toppers fell to Dalton State 103-68 in a Saturday afternoon game in the Southern States Athletic Conference.

Dalton State set the tone early, applying pressure and dictating the pace. The Roadrunners forced quick decisions from Blue Mountain and disrupted the Toppers’ offensive rhythm. A balanced scoring attack and high-energy defense helped Dalton State maintain control throughout the game.

Blue Mountain tried to mount a comeback after halftime. Esrael Yant scored 17 points, including three three-pointers, and contributed three assists. Gavin Shannon added 13 points and seven rebounds, battling inside, while Kam Carter finished with 10 points and five assists. Jonathan Baker scored 10 points with steady play in the backcourt.

Despite the loss, the Toppers shot 39.4 percent from the field and made eight three-pointers. They showed resilience against Dalton State’s defensive pressure. Blue Mountain will face Thomas on Thursday night at home.
