West Point, Georgia — Point University’s men’s basketball team defeated Blue Mountain Christian 92-79 in a Southern States Athletic Conference game Monday night. The Skyhawks built an early lead and maintained momentum throughout the contest, despite a strong start by the Toppers.
Blue Mountain Christian opened with high energy and took an initial lead, but Point responded and began to pull away in the second half. The Toppers kept competing on both ends, trading runs with the Skyhawks, but could not overcome the late-game separation.
Esrael Yant led Blue Mountain Christian with 20 points, including several trips to the free-throw line. Gavin Shannon added 16 points and eight rebounds, providing balanced offense and defense. Michael Hill scored 15 points and contributed defensively, while RJ Robinson added 11 points off the bench. Chris Tackett led the Toppers on the boards with nine rebounds.
The Toppers will play their next game Tuesday against BPCU at 7:30 p.m. EST on the road in another SSAC matchup.
