Blue Mountain Christian Falls to Dalton State in Close Contest
Blue Mountain Christian’s men’s basketball team competed with energy and determination Saturday night at Tyler Gymnasium but fell to Dalton State College 90-80 in a Southern States Athletic Conference game.
The Toppers stayed within striking distance throughout the game, showing balance and toughness on both offense and defense before the Roadrunners pulled away in the final minutes.
Blue Mountain Christian opened strong, trading baskets early and executing its offense well. The team moved the ball effectively in the first half and attacked the paint with confidence. Dalton State responded with timely scoring, keeping the game close.
In the second half, the intensity remained high. Shannon and Baker led the offensive effort, combining for 45 points. Shannon scored 23, and Baker finished with 22. The Toppers mixed perimeter shooting with aggressive drives and created second-chance opportunities to stay competitive.
Dalton State capitalized on key moments down the stretch to extend its lead. Despite the loss, Blue Mountain Christian’s effort was marked by resilience and composure. The team received contributions across the lineup and maintained consistent energy on defense.
