Blue Mountain women’s tennis advances to SSAC semifinals with 4-1 win over UT Southern
The Blue Mountain Christian women’s tennis team secured a 4-1 victory over UT Southern in the opening round of the SSAC Women’s Tennis Championship on Tuesday in Mobile, Alabama.
The Toppers gained early momentum in doubles play, winning the key point with victories from Camila Mordiz and Eugenia Ramos (6-3), and Kiersten Terris and Nami Malyaporn (6-4). Their strong doubles performance set the tone for the match.
In singles, Blue Mountain continued to dominate. Lina Cetina won convincingly in straight sets, 6-1, 7-5. Malyaporn posted a dominant 6-4, 6-0 win, and Ramos sealed the victory with a 6-0, 6-0 sweep. The team now advances to face the No. 1 seed, William Carey, in the semifinals Wednesday at 10 a.m.
