Walnut has outscored last 5 opponents by 150 points after HoCo win

The Walnut Wildcats lost their first game of the season in an out state contest against Scott’s Hill (TN).

Since then, it’s been an offensive explosion week after week.

The Wildcats picked up a 42-14 victory over South Pontotoc on Friday to move to 5-1 on the season. Over their last 5 games, they have outscored opponents 224-74.

Walnut got Homecoming started with a big run from TJ Luellen which set up a 4 yard TJ Colom touchdown.

Colom would put up over 100 yards and three touchdowns in the first half, including this move that was punctuated by a JC Merritt pancake block on a South Pontotoc defender.

Walnut would go on to build a 27-0 halftime lead that included a Cade Hunt to Luellen touchdown pass. Luellen would add a 2nd half touchdown for the Wildcats.
