2024 1st Franklin/Tippah County Sports Female Athlete of the Year is Blue Mountain’s A’rare Foote
A’rare Foote has been named the 2023-2024 1st Franklin Financial/Tippah County Sports Female Athlete of the year.
This is the 7th year of our selecting the Athlete of the Year and this year which , following a successful season all around in Tippah County Sports, was one of the toughest seasons to choose a winner.
A’rare set her self apart with her tenacious defense on the hardwood combined with her speed and stamina in cross country and track and field.
Foote was a basketball state champion, was a player of the year and competed in multiple individual state championship events. The 2024 Coahoma CC basketball signee was widely regarded as one of the best defensive guards in Mississippi.
Below are some of her accolades:
Named 3-1A top female runner in cross country and finished 7th overall in the state.
Named all state in basketball after helping lead Blue Mountain to a storybook first ever state title. She averaged 14.9 points and 4.1 steals per game, tops in the state.
Tippah County Defensive Player of the Year, Region 3-1A MVP, and was named MVP of the NEMBCA All Star Game.
A’rare finished 4th in North Half and qualified to compete for a state title in the 400 meter dash and as a member of the 4×200 relay team.
