Walnut, Pine Grove and Blue Mountain girls advance in playoffs as Ripley girls season ends
A trio of Tippah County girls basketball teams advanced in the playoffs on Monday night while the Ripley Lady Tigers went on the road and fell to the top ranked girls basketball team in 4A.
Walnut advanced in the 2A playoffs with a home win over the visitors from Pisgah. The score was never in doubt as the Lady Wildcats build a 40-7 halftime advantage en route to a 68-26 victory.
Walnut goes on the road to the defending 2A state champion Calhoun City Lady Wildcats on Wednesday.
In other action, Pine Grove came away with a 61-33 victory over Houlka to advance to the 2nd round of the 1A playoffs.
Kenzie Miller led all scorers with 14, Sydney Carter finished with 12 and Ellie Fryar finished with 10. The Lady Panthers move on to face Ingomar on the road on Wednesday.
Blue Mountain went on the road and picked up a 70-41 win over Coffeeville. They will face West Union on the road Wednesday.
Ripley ended their season with a 56-40 loss on the road at Choctaw Central.
