Pine Grove learning lessons with hard fought early season games
The Pine Grove Panthers and Lady Panthers coaches, Jake Walker and Katie Bates, have mastered the art of keeping their players in the moment. One stop, one bucket, one play.
What makes this even more impressive is how they do this while always working towards the future.
They have scheduled games against quality opponents early in the season, including Friday’s game against Ingomar that included the Lady Panthers triple OT Classic.
For the Lady Panthers, it allowed new faces Bella Jumper and Brianna Baggett to get minutes against a proven winner.
For the Panthers, a whole team of new faces, led by freshman phenom Carson Rowland and a host of other first time contributors, is experiencing how to compete in the face of steep odds.
In both cases, Pine Grove players and coaches are relying on the age old adage: iron sharpens iron.
