Player of the week, offensive and defensive standouts week 2
It was an exciting week in Tippah county sports. There was a High scoring joe bowl and a Last second Ripley win. It was hard picking the stand outs. But here we go:
Player of the week
Lane Elliott is your week 2 player of the week. The senior signal caller completed 13-16 passes for 286 yards to go with 17 yards rushing, 4 passing touchdowns. He blocked a punt. He handled kicking duties for Falkner and for good measure he dropped into man coverage against Walnut’s Khris Perry on several plays. No word yet on if he drove the bus back.
Falkner’s TJ Colom. He turned the Joe Bowl into his own highlight reel. He is a threat to score every single time he touches the ball. He finished the game with 100+ yards receiving and 60+ yards rushing and 2 TD. Oh, and look at these highlights.
Ripley’s Jamal Brooks made a case for player of the week, offensive and defensive standout. Time and time again he laid bone crushing hits and made big plays when his team needed it. Like this sack to clinch the game
Jamal Brooks seals the game with this sack
