Blue Mountain’s Aspen Teague earns SSAC Softball Player of the Week honors
Montgomery, Ala. — Aspen Teague of Blue Mountain Christian has been named the SSAC Softball Player of the Week after an impressive week at the plate, according to the conference.
Teague batted .588 over four games, drove in seven runs and totaled 14 bases, including two triples and two four-hit performances. Her offensive production helped the Toppers beat Bethel (Tenn.) and split a doubleheader against No. 25 University of Tennessee Southern.
This is Teague’s first weekly conference honor. She is a first baseman for Blue Mountain Christian and has been a key contributor throughout the season, said Head Coach Matt Brunet.
“Aspen is the ultimate team player and has been clutch for us all season,” Brunet said. “She’s always willing to do what’s best for the team and has been a leader on offense and defense. I’m very proud of everything she’s accomplished this year.”
Teague’s consistent performance and leadership continue to bolster the Toppers as they advance deeper into the season, according to the school.
