Tippah County Volleyball: 8-14-25

A solid night in volleyball action in Tippah County with all 4 local teams playing at home. The home town squads went 3-1 on the night.

Walnut 3-1 over Ingomar

The Lady Cats remain undefeated on the season after taking out 3-time defending state champion Ingomar on Thursday 25-13, 17-25, 25-22, 25-20. Kaylee Estes turned in a dominant performance at the net, notching 8 kills and 4 blocks. Molly Kate Rolison, who ended the match with a kill, contributed 10 kills and an ace. Vivian Brown set up her teammates with 14 assists and an ace. Walnut moved to 7-0.

Falkner 3-2 over Thrasher

Despite dropping the opening set, the Lady Eagles continued to fight hard and they came away with the 5 set victory to get in the W column for the first time this season, crucially in district play. Falkner got the win 22-25, 25-12, 25-20, 21-25, 15-10.

Pine Grove 3-1 over West Union

A game featuring the last two north half champions, the reigning 1A Miss Volleyball in Mylee Switcher and two of the top 4 1A volleyball teams in the Mississippi Sports Group statewide rankings lived up to its billing as a marquee matchup with the home team Lady Panthers coming away with a 3-1 win. The Lady Panthers moved to 5-2-2 on the season.

Ripley falls 2-3 to Kossuth

A back and forth contest between two tough local opponents went 5 sets where Kossuth jumped out to a big early advantage and was able to hold on to the win. The Lady Tigers fell to 7-2 on the season.
