Veteran Lady Wildcats have high hopes for 2025 volleyball season

WALNUT, MISS. – The Walnut Lady Wildcats enter the 2025 volleyball season as one of the top teams to watch in MHSAA Class 2A, coming off a dominant 29-5 campaign that ended in the third round of the state playoffs. With a veteran-heavy roster and key players returning, expectations are high for another postseason push.

Head Coach Kelley Hopper leads a seasoned team featuring seven seniors, including standouts Kaylee Estes and Henlee Sisco, both named to the Mississippi Sports Group’s Statewide “Players to Watch” list.

Estes, a dynamic six-rotation athlete, racked up 33 aces, 164 kills, 38 assists, 178 digs, and 50 blocks last season. Sisco added firepower with 135 kills, 20 aces, 64 digs, 14 blocks, and 10 assists, proving herself a key contributor on both sides of the net.

Additional players expected to make an impact this season include Vivian Brown, Josie Meeks, Preslee Robbins, Allie Jackson, sophomore Madelyn Wilburn, and junior outside hitter Molly-Kate Rolison.

The Lady Wildcats impressed early at the Kossuth Jamboree, showcasing their depth and experience. They return to action this Saturday in tournament play, followed by a challenging season opener Tuesday on the road against 5A North Half champion New Albany.
