Falkner boys claim victory over Walnut as Eagle seniors lead the way
Falkner raced out to a 23-9 first quarter advantage over the visiting Walnut Wildcats on Senior Night en route to a 71-35 victory over their in county rival.
Chauncey Jackson took advantage of his last home game by scoring 11 first quarter points in a contest the Eagles never trailed. Bricen Stroupe added a pair of first quarter 3 pointers and Cody Johnson connected on a buzzer beater to give the Eagles a big advantage.
Jackson and Johnson, the two Eagle seniors, were the leading scorers for Falkner. Jackson finished with 23 and Johnson contributed 18.
The win moved the Eagles to 8-16 on the season.
Walnut fell to 1-23 on the year. Brantley Porterfield led the Wildcats with 16 points.
