Wildcats Hit Road For Out-Of-State Week 1
Walnut is on the road for Week 1 of the 2025 football season as they look to break in several new faces.
The Wildcats, coming off of a district title a season ago, will be at First Assembly Christian to kick off Head Coach John Meeks’ 14th season.
Walnut was 7-4 last season while First Assembly, located in Cordova, was 3-7. The Crusaders lost their opening game of the season this year to SBA 20-13 and Walnut did not have a Week 0 jamboree opponent.
Coach TJ Seago will be the new offensive coordinator for the Cats and he has several new faces on that side of the ball. Multiple seniors who have been with the program for multiple years. Westin Mills is expected to start the season at quarterback, and he will be flanked by college recruit Braydin Spight (6’5″/350 lb) on the offensive line.
Multiple Wildcats will be looked upon to play both ways, including Isaac Sauceda and Mason Wilbanks. Look for Wit Wright, a returning standout, to help anchor the defense.
Game time is set for 7 pm.
