Falkner putting it together in summer basketball

Falkner coach Austin Hopper is instilling basketball his way and it is paying off for the young Eagles.

“We’ve only had about 5 practices. We are working out every day, going through drills and fundamental work,” the new coach said of his short time thus far as leader of Falkner.

The improvement in play from their First game last week to now is stark.

“We are just going to keep trying to get better every day,” Hopper said.

The Eagles took on East Union and Myrtle at the Baldwyn summer shootout. They looked sharp in both contests and were able to play every player in both.

“I am working on lineups and evaluating players every day,” coach Hopper said of his playing multiple lineups with different personnel.

If the improvement continues, the Eagles will definitely be a team to watch this upcoming season.
