Walnut’s coaching staff was pleased with the progress their team showed over the summer, even going as far as saying they “answered some questions” that they had going into the summer.
“This has been the least stressful summer we’ve had in my 12 years here at Walnut,” he said.
Walnut was able to get lots of innings and at bats for several younger players that will serve them well this season.
The Wildcats will be led next season by several familiar faces such as Amber Clifton and Sydney Rogers but the newcomers will help determine the direction of the season.
And the Walnut coaching staff knows it.
“Our pitching and defense will be solid. If we can score some runs and get contributions from our younger players we are going to be ok next year.”
If their summer work is any indication, make that more than ok.
