Panthers get district sweep over New Site in run rule fashion
Pine Grove picked up a pair of in-district wins over New Site with games on back-to-back days this week to move to 2-1 in region play.
The Panthers defeated the Royals 14-2 at home on Thursday then got the 11-0 win on the road on Friday.

On Thursday, Pine Grove jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the first inning and never trailed in the contest.
Peyton Cornelius took the win on the mound, throwing four innings and scattering 5 hits. He had 7 strikeouts against 2 base on balls.
The Panthers had 4 players rack up multiple hits, with Gehrig Shinall leading the way with a double and a homerun in the second inning. Carson Rowland, Jacob Hopkins, Cornelius each also had multiple hits.
On Friday, Hopkins went the distance to pick up the victory, striking out five while allowing just one hit in the shutout.
Tanner Pannell had a double and a homerun to lead the Panthers at the plate. Brice Lindley colelcted a pair of hits while Hopkins and Jacob King added doubles.
The win moved Pine Grove to 5-2 (2-1) on the season.
