Tigers and Lady Tigers defeat Corinth, maintain top 3 rankings

The Ripley Tigers and Lady Tigers both picked up big district wins on Tuesday.

Both maintained their ranking as among the states best in the 4A classification.

Everything went right for the Lady Tigers as they defeated Corinth 57-32 on Tuesday to remain undefeated.

Ripley, the #3 ranked girls squad in 4A, led 29-2 at the end of the first quarter on an Amelya Hatch half court buzzer beater and cruised to the victory.

Hatch finished with 18. Siarra Jackson added 14.

In boys action, the Tigers, ranked as the #3 team in 4A, dispatched their rivals from Corinth 62-54 in a hard fought contest to stay undefeated in district play.

Cam Rucker led with 16 points, including the game icing free throws down the stretch. Asa Howard added 15. TJ Storey contributed 11.

Ripley is back in action Friday with a road game against Tish County.
