Montgomery, Alabama – Jonah Barnhardt of Blue Mountain Christian earned the SSAC Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week award after another strong performance at the Harding Invitational.
Barnhardt finished seventh in the four-mile race with a time of 21:17.60. The junior’s performance adds to his impressive season as a leader for the Topper men’s cross country team.
Entering his third year, Barnhardt sought to build on a breakout sophomore season in which he earned First Team All-SSAC honors, according to coach Phillip Laney. “Jonah has really grown as a runner over the last year, and I think we’re continuing to see that development,” Laney said. “He competes every time he steps on the course, and he has set some high expectations for himself this season. I’m proud of the way he has started his junior year.”
With another top-10 finish under his belt, Barnhardt appears poised to sustain his upward trajectory this season.
