Blue Mountain Christian Men’s Cross Country Wins Topper Trails College Classic

Blue Mountain Christian University’s men’s cross country team won the Topper Trails College Classic with a team score of 17 points, according to school officials. The Toppers placed four runners in the top four and seven inside the top nine, dominating the field.

Senior Lukas Dykes led the way with a first-place finish, crossing the line in 28 minutes, 10.1 seconds. Junior Jonah Barnhardt finished just behind in 28:31.4, giving the Toppers the top two individual spots. Senior Braxton Enzor placed third in 29:39.2, and freshman Samuel Aguilar finished fourth in 30:06.9. Freshman Austin Ellis rounded out the scoring five with a seventh-place time of 31:50.2.

Seniors Lelan Boulden and Erick Flores also finished in the top ten, taking eighth and ninth, respectively. Boulden clocked in at 31:51.6, while Flores was just two-tenths of a second behind in 31:51.8. Jacob Waller finished 11th in 32:24.2, and John Thomas Draper was 12th at 32:49.5. Samuel Hutchinson completed the team’s finishers in 20th place with a time of 37:23.2.

Blue Mountain Christian also used the event as a Senior Day celebration, recognizing Dykes, Enzor, Boulden, and Flores for their contributions. The team finished ahead of Tougaloo, which scored 52 points, and LeMoyne-Owen with 69 points.
