Blue Mountain Christian Women’s Cross Country Dominates at Topper Trails Classic on Senior Day

Blue Mountain Christian University’s women’s cross country team secured a commanding victory at the Topper Trails College Classic, celebrating Senior Day with a perfect team score of 15 points. The Toppers finished with all five scoring runners crossing the finish line before any other team’s first runner.

The team’s five scorers combined for a time of 1:47:43, averaging 21 minutes and 32 seconds per 5K race. Sophomore Ella Shepherd led the pack, winning the individual title with a time of 20:26.6, followed closely by Kaedyn Wilson in second place at 20:30.8.

Lauren Paul finished third at 22:00.3, while Ruth Hutchinson placed fourth in 22:19.7. Jorja Kate Mooneyhan completed the sweep with a fifth-place finish at 22:26.4. Freshman Josie Meeks was sixth overall, finishing 11th in 23:55.6.

Senior Leah Montgomery rounded out the lineup, finishing 13th with a time of 26:04.6. The meet also served as a special occasion for the team to honor its seniors, many of whom competed in one of their final collegiate races at home.

Blue Mountain Christian finished 25 points ahead of second-place Delta State, which recorded 40 points in the team standings.
