Mooneyhan Brothers Lead Blue Mountain Christian at SSAC Track Championships

The Blue Mountain Christian men’s track and field team had a notable showing at the SSAC Championships in Gulf Shores, Alabama. The team earned several top finishes, including a school record in the pole vault and multiple personal bests across various events, according to school officials.

Jared Mooneyhan led the Toppers in the pole vault, finishing second with a clearance of 3.35 meters. His mark set a new school record and was a highlight of the meet. Joseph Mooneyhan finished third at 3.20 meters, and Braxton Enzor placed fourth with a height of 2.75 meters. All three vaulters recorded personal bests, contributing to the team’s success in the event.

In distance races, Jonah Barnhardt posted one of the meet’s top performances for Blue Mountain Christian. He finished fifth in the 10,000-meter run with a time of 32:23.23, which was both a personal and school record. Barnhardt also placed seventh in the 5,000-meter race in 15:35.72. Erick Flores and Noah Harrington recorded personal bests in the 5,000 meters, finishing 15th and 17th, respectively. JT Draper added a personal record in the 10,000 meters with a time of 37:55.20.

In middle-distance events, JaKarien Perry led the team in the 800-meter run with a 13th-place finish in 2:03.97. Lukas Dykes and Sammuel Hopper finished 14th and 18th, respectively. Dykes also competed in the 1,500 meters, placing 13th in 4:18.00, while Lelan Boulden finished 17th in 4:50.17. Enzor ran the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 11:27.24, earning 11th place and a personal best.

The 4×800-meter relay team of Perry, Hopper, Boulden, and Dykes finished sixth with a time of 8:33.65. The team’s overall performance marked a strong finish to the 2026 season, highlighted by podium finishes, a school record, and multiple personal bests, according to school officials.
