Walnut puts up 42 first half points in big win over Alcorn Central
For the third week in a row, Walnut drove for a quick score on their opening posesssion.
For the second week in a row, it led to the Wildcats cruising to a non-division victory.
Walnut put up 42 first half points against Alcorn Central and cruised to a 48-16 victory on the road Friday night.
Walnut’s TJ Colom set the tone for the game with a score on his first touch of the game, a 56 yard jet sweep.
The Wildcats would get a quick stop and a score from TJ Luellen on his first touch of the game to take an early 14-0 lead. The scoring onslaught would continue from there.
Walnut quarterback Cade Hunt continued to shine, throwing 4 touchdown passes. He now has 10 touchdowns and 0 interceptions on the year.
Luellen scored a pair of touchdowns. Colom led the way with four scores, 2 rushing and 2 receiving. Brandon Shields caught 4 passes and scored his 2nd touchdown of the season.
